smyrnaSmyrna Essay Award

The Hellenic Studies Program is pleased to announce the “Smyrna Essay Award.” The award is made possible thank to the generosity of Proteus NY and follows the screening of the documentary “Smyrna: The destruction of A Cosmopolitan City 1900-1922.” The award will be conferred on any Yale Undergraduate for an outstanding essay on the history and culture of Smyrna from 1839 to 1922.

Paris Aslanidis

Paris Aslanidis received his Ph.D. from the University of Macedonia, Greece, funded by a scholarship from the Alexander S. Onassis Public Benefit Foundation. He has also studied Electrical and Computer Engineering, Digital Games Design, History and Philosophy of Science, and Political Science, in Greece and the United Kingdom.
